Thunder boomed in the distance. Suddenly the storm was above us. There was an earsplitting crack. The air filled with screams, some of them my own. It was a lightning strike! Then blackness and distant thunder.
the incident happened two years ago. As the weather report said that those few days were sunny and there were no signs of any storms, my group of friends decided to go on a cruise to relax after the end of year exams. Little did we know that our relaxing cruise will turn out to be a disaster.
That day after the storm had eased, my palms were full of sweat. I noticed that my friends faces were all pale white. Now just thinking about that incident, the loud booming of thunder and the crack of lightning, sends shivers down my spine.

confessions of a Topophobic
Shafts of sunlight flooded in from the large windows, exposing tiny particles of dust dancing in its wake. I approached the microphone gingerly. Panic surged through me. I had to force my legs to walk towards the microphone. When i finally reached the microphone, i was trembling. I stood there. I opened my mouth but nothing came out .
After a few attempts, I was mumbling. I quickly finished it off and ran off the stage in embarrassment. I took a deep breath but I was still shaking.

wad i did during the school holidays...
During the holidays, I went on an exchange program in China from 17th Nov to 28th Nov. We took an airplane and reached there at about 3.30pm. Once the exit of the airport opened, you could immediately feel the coldness in the air. It was also raining. Everyone quickly rushed into the bus. The temperature in the bus was no difference because it has an opening at the top. We had a 2 hour journey to Suzhou and checked in to a hotel. The next day we went to Pan Men gate, Light Pagoda, Main gate, No.1 Silk Factory, Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Industrial Park. After going to all those places, we had a 2 hour journey to Wujiang hotel and checked in. The next 5 days we went to Wujiang Qidu Middle School for the exchange program. We joined the china pupils in their classrooms. Once a teacher comes into the classroom, the pupils become attentive and quiet. They were also very kind and helpful. Each period was 45 minutes. After each period there will be a 10 minutes break and the pupils will run out of the classrooms and just have fun and relax. Their teaching is a little different from us because they use Chinese language in all subjects including English. We also stayed in the school hostel. On Saturday and Sunday we went to West Lake, Yue Fei Mausoleum, Longjin Dragon Tea Plantation, Xixi Wetland Park and to Asian Town. We also practiced a farewell performance for the school. On Monday we went back to Wujiang Qidu School and stayed till Tuesday. On Tuesday we woke up early and rehearsed the farewell performance for 1 last time before performing. At night we went to Pearl tower which have a very beautiful scene of the city at night. On the last day of the trip we went to the science centre and watched a 4D movie. We then took a Maglev train that traveled faster then an average train to the airport and we flew back to Singapore.
